SIR ALEX STAYING PUT

Sir Alex Ferguson has rejected talk of him stepping down and is already thinking about guiding Manchester United to a 19th title.

The Old Trafford chief was full of smiles as United's 0-0 draw with Arsenal on Saturday proved to be enough for them to lift their third Premier League crown in a row and their 11th under Ferguson. Their tally of 18 equals Liverpool's record and despite only just celebrating this success, the Scot is already looking ahead to the 2009/10 campaign and a potential record breaking season. There had been mounting talk that Ferguson, now 67, may call it a day this summer but it appears he has no intention of ending his amazing spell in charge at Old Trafford.

When asked about retiring, the United boss told Sky Sports: ""I'm not contemplating it. I'll carry on. I'm going to stay as a manager and my health will tell me when to quit."He added: "Next year we are going for it again. That (18 titles) was the target because they (Liverpool) were the greatest side in the land.

"But I never thought we could get 11 titles - never in a million years."
