Mike Ashley could sell Newcastle by the end of next week after ex-manager Kevin Keegan's £2m legal settlement, BBC Sport understands.

Keegan, who left the club in September 2008, took Newcastle to court for constructive dismissal and won his case earlier in October.

Tyneside businessman Barry Moat is among the contenders to seal the purchase of the club for £100m.
Chris Hughton would remain in charge if the deal goes through immediately.

England midfielder David Beckham is holding talks with Los Angeles Galaxy over a return to AC Milan on loan.
Beckham, 34, spent a successful five-month loan spell with Milan last season and a return would help him stay fit as he looks to play in the 2010 World Cup

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson questioned referee Alan Wiley's fitness after his side's 2-2 draw with Sunderland.
Anton Ferdinand's injury-time own-goal gave United a point, but it was Wiley's display that incurred Ferguson's wrath.
He said: "The pace of the game demanded a referee who was fit. He was not fit.
